Massage Therapy

Clinical massage therapy has proven to be an important component of health care and a valuable compliment to chiropractic treatment. We are pleased to make this available in our clinic.

Though relaxation may certainly be a part of your experience, the goal of clinical massage therapy is different than a relaxation massage that you may experience in a spa. Through techniques such as deep tissue massage, trigger point work, myofascial release, and stretching, clinical therapy is intended to rehabilitate, reduce stress and strain, and improve function.

Massage may be effective in treating a variety of muscle, join, and pain complaints including repetitive stress injuries (carpal tunnel), neck and back tension, headache, jaw pain, shoulder and hip pain, and sciatica.

We currently have three massage therapists on staff. Our therapists are certified, experienced, and collaborate with the doctors to ensure they are providing the most appropriate and effective care. More details about the massage therapists can be found on the Practitioners page.

Appointments are available from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday - Friday.

Fees

Charges for massage therapy services are as follows:

half-hour (30 minute) session is $40
one-hour (60 minute) session is
$80

There is a time-of-service discount for the 60 minute session. If paid with cash or check the charge is $65. This does not apply to debit or credit card payments, if we are billing insurance, or if we must for any reason bill the patient. It is strictly a time-of-service cash discount.

Payment for massage therapy is expected at time of service, including co-pays, coinsurance, and deductible.

Note: Massage therapy is billed with CPT code 97124 in 15 minute units. A 60 minute massage will appear as 4 units on insurance claims.

Insurance

Our massage therapists are contracted with most major insurance companies. For example:

Aetna
Cigna
Premera Blue Cross
Regence Blue Shield
Uniform Medical Plan

They are not credentialed with Medicare or Medicaid. Medicare does not cover massage therapy treatment.

Please check the requirements of your insurance benefits policy to determine what your massage benefits are and if you need a referral prior to treatment. Although our providers may be contracted, that does not necessarily mean your policy covers massage therapy benefits.

Massage therapy is also available for personal injury and worker's compensation (L&I) claims.
